The Edmonton Food Council is looking for new members!

As a volunteer committee of the City, the Edmonton Food Council’s primary role is to advise on matters of food and urban agriculture and to take an active role in supporting the implementation of fresh: Edmonton’s Food and Urban Agriculture Strategy. Other key activities may include undertaking research and evaluation, coordination, public engagement and education.

If you want to be a part of a dynamic team that is helping to shape the future of food and urban agriculture in Edmonton, check it out and apply before April 30th.

Need some gardening tools this Spring?

Don’t Buy, Borrow them from the Edmonton Tool Library

The Edmonton Tool Library is an independent, not-for-profit society dedicated to providing affordable access to an inventory of over 600 hand, power, and garden tools. Standard memberships cost $50 per year for access to everything from angle grinders to wet tile saws. You can view and search the inventory on edmontontoollibrary.ca.

You can also have free access to the ETL with your Community League membership.

City of Edmonton Composting Workshops

Want to learn about composting?

These 2-hour workshops are ten dollars per family (only one member need register) and they will provide you with everything you need to start composting. If you begin in spring, you will have finished compost to spread in the fall.
Participants may purchase an Earth Machine Compost Bin for only thirty-five dollars at the workshop.To register, call 311 or visit eReg.
